Terms of service

The short version: you get a fair price you can see the reason for, we print what you sent us, and if we get it wrong we fix it.

Who we are

LayerPrint is an online 3D printing service. You send us a model, by link or as a file, we price it, print it on our own printers and ship it to you. These terms apply whenever you use the site or place an order. By placing an order you agree to them.

Your account

You can create an account with an email and password, or sign in with Google. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for orders placed from your account.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and the details you give us (name, email, shipping address) must be accurate.

Quotes and prices

A quote is worked out from the filament your model uses, the printer time it needs and a packing fee. The quote shows each part. Shipping and any tax are shown at checkout before you pay.

A quote is valid for the number of days shown on it. We may change our rates at any time, but a change never affects an order you have already paid for.

Quotes are measured by software. If a print turns out to need much more material or time than quoted, we will tell you before printing and you can accept the new price or cancel for a full refund.

Payment

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Your order is confirmed once the payment succeeds; you will get an email when it does.

Made-to-order prints and cancelling

Every print is made for you, to your file. You can cancel for a full refund at any time before your print starts. Once a printer has started your job, the order can no longer be cancelled.

3D prints show small layer lines, slight color variation and tiny marks where supports were removed. These are part of the process, not defects. See Shipping and returns for what we do when a print is damaged or wrong.

Your files and models

You keep all rights to the files you upload. You give us permission to store, slice and print them only to fulfil your order.

You confirm that you have the right to have the model printed. Many models on MakerWorld, Thingiverse and similar sites have licenses that limit commercial use. Models in our own catalog are ones we have checked we may print; for models you link or upload, checking the license is your responsibility.

We may refuse or cancel, with a full refund, any job that:

  • appears to infringe someone else’s rights,
  • is a weapon, a weapon part, or anything illegal to make or own,
  • can’t be printed reliably on our machines.

Shipping

We ship to the address you give at checkout. Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees. The details, including damaged and lost parcels, are on the Shipping and returns page.

Using the site

Please don’t misuse the site: no attempts to break in, overload it, scrape it at scale, or use it to send us files you have no right to share. We may suspend accounts that do.

Our responsibility to you

If a print we make is faulty, we will reprint it or refund it, as described in our returns policy. Printed parts are not certified for safety-critical, medical, food-contact or load-bearing use unless we have agreed that with you in writing.

As far as the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. The terms that applied when you placed an order are the ones that apply to that order.
