A farm of Bambu Lab printers in Elwood, Indiana. One of them prints yours.

LayerPrint runs its own print farm, with room for 15 or more printers. Your order goes to the next printer that’s free. When every printer is busy it waits its turn in the queue, and your order page shows where you are in line. From the first layer to the last, you can watch it happen.

How it movesThe nozzle traces each layer’s outline. Then the bed drops 0.2 mm and the next layer begins.

The farm board

Every printer on the farm, whether it’s busy and how long its print has left. Customers’ prints stay private: a busy printer shows only its material. Idle printers take the next order; when none are free, orders wait their turn.

2 idleProgress is estimated from each print’s start and length.

How your job finds a printer

Three checks, done in the time it takes the order page to load.

  1. Step 1 · Check the farmEvery printer

The moment you order, we read every printer's state: printing, idle, cooling, or out of filament.

  2. Step 2 · Pick a free oneIdle + right spool

Your job goes to an idle printer with your material and color loaded and a bed big enough for the part. If none is free, it joins the queue in order.

  3. Step 3 · Start, or queueStarted · or 2nd in line

The sliced file goes to that printer and the print starts, and your order page switches to the live view. If you're queued, the page shows your place in line until a printer frees up.

What you see while it prints

  • Which printer has your job, and when it started.
  • The layer count and percent done, updated as the printer reports.
  • Time left, straight from the printer’s own estimate.
  • Then the rest: printed, packed, shipped, with tracking on the same page.

About the board. It reads the farm about once a minute. In between, each print’s progress is estimated from when it started and how long it was expected to take, so it can run a little ahead of or behind the printer.
